After eight years, I decided to change my site name. What was formerly The Boy Scout Diary is now my name. This is a long time coming, and over the years I have slowly stopped naming things of mine after boys. For instance, my previous laptop, when prompted to give it a name, was named JAX after Jax Teller. So many account names were named after a crush or was my first name but their last. Very cute, but very… not me anymore.

I recently turned 26, and I want to emphasize that I’m not mad or frustrated with myself or the previous name. I am just no longer in the place where I want to give boys credit for my own self expression. The Boy Scout will always be a funny nickname from when I was 15, because it was creative and absolutely true, but now I want a little more.

I might end up hating it, but it’s midnight and I’m tired and I’m learning that it’s ok to change my mind. So we will see how I feel as time goes on.
